RTET SARKARI NAUKRI News - 9 lakh to fight it out for 15,000 govt jobs

RTET SARKARI NAUKRI  News -

9 lakh to fight it out for 15,000 govt jobs

Ajmer: More than 9 lakh candidates will try their luck in the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET), which will be held on February 7. The exam will be conducted to select 15,000 teachers for government schools. It will be conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE).
The purpose behind introducing this exam is that candidates do not have to appear in two different exams for becoming a teacher in a government school. The appointments will be made on the basis of the REET merit list.
The state government has advertised 15,000 posts, for which over nine lakh candidates will try their luck.
According to sources, the REET exam will be conducted in two sessions. The first session would be for the candidates who want to become teachers for classes I to V. In the second session, those candidates will appear who want to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
For the first session exam, 1.51 lakh candidates have applied, while for the second session, 7.44 lakh candidates filled the application forms.
A total of 1.5 lakh candidates applied for the examination of both the sessions on the last day on Thursday.
According to the RBSE, the exam will be conducted as per the guidelines and syllabus of National Council for Teacher Education. The REET is the 'changed form' of Rajasthan Teachers' Eligibility Test (RTET).
The important aspect of REET is that chief minister Vasundhara Raje had promised to change the RTET pattern at the time of state assembly elections.
As soon as the results of REET will be announced, the state government will appoint teachers as per the merit list.
"The problem is that only 15,000 candidates will get jobs out of 9 lakh. The remaining will have to wait for the next selection process," said a source.
Previously, after completing bachelor in education (Bed), a candidate had to appear in RTET (Rajasthan Teachers' eligibility Test) and then appear in the selection process of teachers. But in REET, the candidate will get the job in one go if he gets a place in the merit list, added source.
On the 15,000 posts of teachers in government schools, the reservation will apply as per the guidelines of the state government. It means 50% seats are open for general candidates.
Now, the board is verifying the applications forms. The last date for online submission of forms was Thursday. "The process will bring transparency in appointing teachers and the best will get the job," said an official.
