RTET / Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test News

The Rajasthan Teachers Eligibility Test (RTET) has been postponed by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) on 17 December for an indefinite period.

Main reason is that selection rule for teachers selection is going to amend.

RTET was to be held on 29 December, 2013. The notice of delay in exam was issued after the clash in dates of the RTET and national level exams like National Eligibility Test (NET) and SSB exams was brought to notice.

Furthermore, many of the RTET test-takers were also registered either for NET or SSB exam , because of the which the RTET had to be postponed.

For RTET, 5 lakh above aspirants registered across the state. To create seating arrangement, thousands of centers are to be arranged.

Of the RTET centers, many were also scheduled for NET and SSB exam, informed an RBSE official.

RBSE knew about the coinciding date of RTET with other important exams, and the decision was taken to observe the new government's vision on RTET.

In several rallies, the new chief minister Vasundhara Raje had disapproved of the pattern of the exam and suggested changes.

RBSE also elucidated that due to unable to find an apt Sunday to conduct this exam, new date has not been declared as yet. The exam is however expected to be conducted after May, 2014 and the board exams.

Some source says RBSE postpones Rajasthan teacher's test (RTET) indefinitely
However it is not completely true.
As soon as selection rule are amended, RTET exam conduction process may started.

RBSE also clarified saying that a new date has not been announced as they are unable to find a Sunday to conduct this exam. It is likely that the exam may be conducted after the board exams or after May, 2014.
